Role Summary/Purpose
In this exciting leadership role, the Aviation Cleanliness Expert reports to the Senior Operation Management Staff Manager and will be a self-motivated, highly charged individual providing leadership, strategy and solutions to prevent and solve cleanliness issues across all production and MRO programs. This role is an opportunity for the employee to grow as an expert in this field with opportunities to obtain a controlled title holder position.
Essential Responsibilities
· Own and provide interpretation of Cleanliness Spec P4TF21
· Work upstream with GE shops, partners, and approved vendors to ensure engine hardware meet cleanliness standards / specs
· Support production engine sickbays related to oil debris to help identify causes of bearing failures
· Support investigations to confirm bearing damage failure mechanisms
· Provide Engineering direction and support in applying P4TF21 to part / assembly drawings
· Provide Engineering direction and support in maintaining or changing oil debris limits on production programs
· Support GE oil labs in Peebles and Evendale in interpretation of debris samples, how to run oil debris analysis, understanding of SEM and smart PI equipment, oil filter flushing, generating “tabs” for SEM and microscopic analysis
· Be knowledgeable of chip morphology and different failure modes
· Be knowledgeable of manufacturing processes of engine hardware sensitive to cleanliness
· Create strategy for maintaining cleanliness standards across GE Aviation and its shops, partners, and suppliers
· Create cleanliness training materials and provide training as necessary
· Be knowledgeable of the latest technology and equipment in the industry used in manufacturing of engine hardware sensitive to cleanliness standards
· Be willing to travel to domestic and international shops in support of cleanliness standards or investigations
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production processes

· Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international shops in support of cleanliness standards or investigations
Desired Characteristics
· Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes, lubrication system design and operation, Bearing design and operation, SEM and Microscopic inspection practices and techniques
· Six sigma certification
· Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
· Solid foundational knowledge of engine assembly and operation
· Strong use of analytical skills and demonstrated leadership
· Previous experience communicating and/or working with Mechanical Systems Engineering
