Overview

This is a Hybrid role in Irving, TX that requires 3 days in the office.

 

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with experience in the retail space for hands on front-end and back-end development.  In this role, you will develop, enhance and support the technology platforms that power our in-store experience for customers and employees – including inventory, omnichannel processes, directed pick and put-away, and more.

Responsibilities

·  Implement, and maintain enterprise-grade applications that support store operations, inventory management, associate tools, and omnichannel experiences.
·  Develop high‑performance backend services and APIs using modern .NET (C#) on a microservices‑driven architecture.
·  Build intuitive, scalable UI components using modern web frameworks such as React or Angular , integrated cleanly with .NET backend systems.
·  Implement cloud-native applications on Azure , leveraging services such as Functions, Container Apps, Key Vault, App Configuration, and Azure SQL.
·  Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineering peers to translate requirements into secure, resilient solutions.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

·  .NET development experience (modern .NET, .NET Framework, ASP.NET)
·  Exposure to building and consuming RESTful APIs and backend services (some SOAP services)
·  Basic working experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle DB (writing queries, updating data, understanding relational schema design, etc)
·  Experience with Git and Git-based workflows (feature branching, pull requests, code reviews)
·  Exposure to CI/CD concepts using a platform like GitHub Actions or others
·  Front-end development familiarity with React or another modern JavaScript framework
·  Ability to follow branching, deployment, and operational procedures

 

Preferred Requirements:

·  Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Azure
·  Experience with Azure Container Apps (ACA), Azure Functions, App Config, Key Vault, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), etc
·  Exposure to automated unit tests for .NET apps
·  Experience working with logging/monitoring tools like New Relic, App Insights, or similar
·  Experience writing stored procedures and query optimization
·  Experience with Android mobile development (eg: Kotlin)
·  Familiarity with Kafka (or event-driven architecture)
·  Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or Miro for project documentation
·  Familiarity with Java

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $90,000 - $110,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
