Overview

The EMEA Legal Team of Foot Locker is an international team composed by 11 team members with diverse legal backgrounds; we cover a wide range of legal, strategic, and business issues in 20 countries in EMEA.
Currently, we are recruiting a full-time legal counsel specialized in data protection law who is willing to work in a dynamic industry and join an international legal department. The legal counsel will provide strategic and practical advice to our internal stakeholders on privacy and data protection matters on a European level; also, the legal counsel will collaborate with the privacy team in the US on global privacy projects. Working in this team, you must be able to understand the core of the matters, but also, be precise, have a healthy dose of common sense, and be able to make good decisions balancing compliance and business needs.

Responsibilities

·  Provide day-to-day assistance in matters within the spectrum of privacy/data protection law, from ordinary to extraordinary, including matters related to data subject rights, data minimization practices, complaints.
·  Support in managing data breach incidents and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
·  Review and update the privacy and cookie notices.
·  Advise on the use of cookies and tracking technologies.
·  Negotiate and review data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses.
·  Collaborate with multiple departments (e.g., loyalty, ecom, and customer service teams) to ensure privacy compliance.
·  Conduct training sessions and provide guidance on privacy-related matters.
·  Stay up to date with the latest developments in privacy/data protection law.
·  Provide assistance with cross-border data transfers.
Qualifications

·  Must hold master’s degree in law in Europe.
·  In-deep knowledge of the GDPR and relevant jurisprudence/regulations.
·  Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing. Any additional European languages skills are a plus.
·  Previous experience in a similar position or in a law firm in a similar practice area for about 1-2
·  Good judgement and high level of integrity.
·  Be proactive, respectful, and willing to learn.
·  Be a team player, attend legal department meetings and team activities.
·  Affinity with the retail industry is a plus.

This is a hybrid position. You will be required to be present in the office 3 times per week.
