Overview

Be a part of our Distribution Center because we know how satisfying it is to walk around in a new pair of sneakers, and it is our job to get footwear onto the feet of our fans. 

 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing support in general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and the upkeep of the entire service center. Responsibilities include maintaining all Facility/ Material Handling Equipment, and ground equipment through preventative maintenance schedules while providing additional support to the maintenance department as required.

Available Schedules:

·  Weekend Shift 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Base rate paid bi-weekly: Starting rate from $23.00 to $31.00 per hour - BASED ON EXPERIENCE. (Level II to Level III Tech) 

 

Shift Differential :

·  Weekend Shift - should you meet your full 36.00 scheduled hours, a payout of 40.00 will be honored. 

Referral Bonus: Refer a friend and you both obtain $900 (Paid out in four increments - Eligibility and policy rules apply)

Responsibilities

·  Troubleshoot and repair basic electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems (i.e. belt tracking, sensors, chain alignment and tension, replace/repair gear boxes/motors, electrical overloads, blown fuses, broken mac valves, etc…) as well as analyze and repair basic system/material handling equipment malfunctions.
·  Ensure all assigned equipment is fully operational at beginning of shift which includes checking for damage and reporting all damages or malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
·  Perform extensive maintenance procedures including conducting daily preventative maintenance inspections.
·  Properly follows critical Lock Out / Tag Out actions while working on equipment.
·  Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures; use required Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety glasses, Arc flash suits, respirators, and fall protection).
·  Support Junior Technicians through basic facility/grounds maintenance including but not limited to basic plumbing, yard work, lightbulb replacement, drywall repair, HVAC checks, cleaning, and floor repairs.
·  Support Senior Technicians through troubleshooting and repair of extensive electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems (i.e. Programable Logic Controller malfunctions, transformer failures, circuit card diagnostics, shoe/tilt tray sorter repairs, servo motor troubleshooting, cardboard baler service, etc…).
·  Operate and maintain the multi-shifter.
·  Maintain, test and service industrial batteries.
·  Operate and certify lift trucks, maintenance equipment (scissor lift and genie boom lift) grounds equipment and company vehicles.
·  Accurately complete departmental paperwork.
·  Operate Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
·  Set-up and repair shelving/racking and other types of material handling storage structures.
·  Ability to work without close supervision and pay close attention to detail.
·  Regular and punctual attendance and ability to work overtime as required.
Qualifications

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without accommodation.

·  Required to stand (stationary position) during scheduled hours. Hours usually include weekends, evenings, and holidays in conjunction with labor regulations.
·  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
·  Kneeling, stooping, using stairs, reaching, pulling, climbing ladders, and moving weights of 0-25 pounds constantly, 25-40 pounds occasionally and over 40 pounds seldomly with or without assistance as needed.
·  Must be comfortable ambulating 30-40 feet in the air.
·  Must be able to comfortably fit and work in a fall protection harness.
·  Based on business necessity associates may be required to temporarily work in other locations that require different physical demands.
·  Operate hand and/or portable power tools at a proficient level.

EXPERIENCE:

·  This position requires a basic understanding of general troubleshooting, as well as routine repairs in the areas of: Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Carpentry, Pneumatics and Welding
·  Minimum of two year’s maintenance/mechanical/repair experience or vocational diploma in related area(s).
·  A working understanding of P.L.C’s. and PC Controls with minimal assistance.
·  Must have knowledge of basic welding, electrical procedures and related safety guidelines.
·  Minimum of one (1) year experience with automation control or conveyor equipment or equivalent training.
·  Ability to operate a wide variety of motorized vehicles.
·  Ability to read, write, conduct business related mathematics, analyze data, and utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
·  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes, chemicals, or airborne particles; extreme heat; outside weather conditions and vibration.
·  The employee will need to have the ability to stand for a full shift with frequent stooping, walking, leaning and reaching.
