Job Purpose
To effectively supervise all logistics and warehousing operations in the organization to ensure all related areas and activities are optimized to achieve effective and efficient service to customers, both internal and external
To Oversees the receipt, storage and dispatch of products in a safe and efficient way. He/she mobilizes his/her team and sets up the right processes and tools to ensure his/her site's main objectives are met in terms of Safety, Quality, Service and Costs.

Key Areas of Responsibility

·  Maintain effective warehouse management and inventory control systems to ensure material supply is always just in time and based on first in first out principle in
·  accordance to daily production plans
·  Ensure compliance with Warehouse work procedures and rules/regulations set out by Management
·  Supervising / Motivation and control of warehouse staff.
·  Optimization of warehouse throughput and lead times.
·  Performance measurement of warehouse staff (Picks, Put-Aways, Replenishments )
·  General Management off risk associated with Inventory control
·  Assist General queries Stock levels/ Returns
·  Maintain Neat / Hospital environment for all stock stored in warehouse
·  Ensure that warehouse operations and relevant IT Systems are controlled to optimize warehouse throughput-SAP System Support
·  Picking Control / Load Allocation for load plans received
·  Generate systematic documentation for all warehousing functions from SAP system (Inbound; In house)
·  Allocation off stock received into dedicated Storage areas ( Bulk Storage; Pick Zones; Racking Area )
·  System Registration off new models received ( Pack; Put-Away Strategies / Allocation )
·  Generate Replenishment tasks on SAP system and allocate tasks to specific workers in various area
·  Process Move tasks associated with inventory allocation
·  Perform Daily Cycle Counts / Conduct Monthly Stock Counting
·  Report on Inventory Discrepancies, Damages etc
·  Ensure inventory on hand is updated on inventory system (SAP System )
·  Insure Returns are received, checked and put-away back into warehouse in to correct location.
·  Report on Warehouse capacity and utilization
·  Ensuring that the standards are in place and continuously measured on the site in terms of Safety (WISE), Food Safety (AIB), Quality and Stock Management
·  Ensuring a safe, healthy work environment
·  Ensuring allergen storage, chemicals and empty containers management are done according to prescribed guidelines
·  Contributing to industrial audits by providing evidence and information as required by audit requirements (Safety, GMP, Suppliers)
·  Ensuring quality requirements and checks in the stores regarding inspection of incoming material and rejection of material
·  Standing in for Storeman when required
·  Ensuring the culture file is kept updated and ordering stock as required.
·  Ensuring all the freezers in the culture room are cleaned monthly by moving the stock around so that some freezers can be cleaned weekly.
·  Completing the cleaning checklist and signing off once cleaning is done.
·  Filling in the culture checklist with deliveries. Ensuring there are no damages, dirty cartons etc.
·  Ordering labels from IT solutions as required.
·  Filing of all stores paperwork on a daily basis.
·  Amending expiry dates of stock items as required when doing 0105.
·  Managing the warehouse team per shift.
·  Manage the call off and follow up of deliveries from IDL Atlas/external warehouses.
·  Assist with reasonable general work where needed.
·  Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality principles as included in the policies, procedures, product specifications and processes. This also includes general Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene practices.
·  Identify and report any potential Food Safety & Quality and GMP deviations and hazard

Qualifications

·  Matric or Equivalent
·  Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics
·  Fork Lift License will be an added advantage

Experience

·  Min 5 years relevant industry experience with min 2 years at supervisory level
·  Sound understanding of warehouse & Inventory management systems and processes
·  Ms Office Suite at an advance level
·  Excellent computer skills (MS Office), numeracy and analytical skills.
·  Excel
·  SAP and Tekdan Experience would be an added advantage
·  Strong understanding of relevant regulations and legislation
