Danone North America is looking for a Plant Accountant - Bridgeton in Bridgeton, NJ.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for plant accounting and financial results reporting, including providing accurate and timely data for month end close, ensuring compliance with Company policies, and providing timely and accurate accounting and financial support to operating management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·  Month end close – review open PO reports; prepare and enter monthly expense accruals; review all expense accounts for errors and correct as needed; prepare and maintain monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations; review and analyze production order variances after settlement routinely during the month and at month end; prepare/review production order variance and cycle count reports and analyze significant variances on a daily basis and summarize at month end.
·  Management information - provide complete, accurate and timely financial support to operating management as needed; participate in annual planning process; monitor and report on capital expenditures.
·  Disbursements - ensure proper authorization and approval of locally purchased items; review and code approved invoices with appropriate account number and cost center; ensure timely submission of PO’s / invoices and proper backup to corporate accounting; monitor and update Accounts Payable PO log; communicate with vendors regarding any issues with invoices; monitor GR/IR balances and aging and investigate unusual items; maintain and reconcile plant petty cash.
·  Inventory Oversight – timely verification of production postings to ensure proper finished and semi-finished inventory is reported; assist production to ensure orders are closed and goods issue errors are corrected; monitor bills-of-material for accuracy and coordinate changes with SAP Master Data group; assist in researching and resolving cycle count variances.
·  Other – engage in manufacturing analytics and help interpret key performance indicators for the plant; assist in any continuous improvement projects that tie to the plant’s financial performance. Help in other duties that are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

·  CPA or CMA preferred
·  Three to four years manufacturing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·  Strong knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles
·  Excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.
·  Must be detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently and with limited supervision.
·  Self-starter, dependable and possess the ability to respond quickly and accurately on multiple priorities.
·  Ability to identify issues/control weaknesses and develop and implement recommendations for resolution
·  Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
·  Strong Excel & Word skills required
·  Innovative problem solving skills and flexible mind-set

NONESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Working knowledge of accounting systems, SAP preferred

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires dexterity and data entry skills. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports, and computer terminals. Requires hearing within normal range for telephone use.
