As our next Global Buyer for Minerals and Amino Acids you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and management of mineral and amino acid raw materials on a global scale. This role ensures continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with the company’s sustainability objectives. 

 

Key Responsibilities

·  Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management: Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for minerals and amino acids to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity. Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers worldwide, lead selection and performance reviews, and negotiate contracts to ensure reliability, compliance, and risk mitigation.
·  Market Intelligence and Risk Management: Monitor global market trends, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical factors affecting the category. Proactively manage risks related to supply, price volatility, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining knowledge of industry standards and certifications.
·  Cost Management and Value Creation: Drive cost-reduction and value-creation initiatives through strategic negotiations, supplier collaboration, and innovation. Utilize volume leverage and multi-sourcing strategies and report savings and performance metrics to stakeholders. 
·  Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Finance to ensure materials meet specifications and support product development and sustainability goals. Lead supplier engagement and project management for process improvements and innovation.
·  Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure procurement activities align with internal policies, external regulations, and ethical standards. Champion sustainability by sourcing responsibly and promoting diversity, while continuously improving sourcing processes and delivering insights to senior management.

About you

To be successful in this role, you need to be highly analytical, results-driven professional with deep experience in global procurement, particularly within the minerals and amino acids markets, and a proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships across diverse geographies and cultures. You need to have a strategic mindset, and be comfortable operating in complex and changing environments. You also have a pro-active approach to sourcing & supply chain challenges, and have a strong focus on continuous improvement. 

You also have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in global procurement or strategic sourcing; expertise in minerals, amino acids, or related categories will be a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills across international markets.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels and across cultures.
• Proficiency in procurement tools, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and advanced Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required (up to 25%).
