Business Controller, Danone Manifesto Ventures

Job description

The Business Controller, Danone Manifesto Ventures, is the financial liaison between Danone Ventures and the US and global financial teams, providing support with budgets, monthly forecasts, financial analyses, investments in start-up food and beverage companies, portfolio reporting and a number of other ad hoc business analyses related to the Company's corporate venture group.

In this role you will be accountable for:

·  Managing Danone Ventures' budgeting, expense tracking, forecasting and financial analyses to support business goals; performing monthly close and presenting results to management
·  Continuously improving the Danone Ventures business reporting processes to improve accuracy and identify opportunities and risks
·  Supporting investment management and legal teams to assess and execute investment activities in start-up food and beverage space
·  Liaising with investment management team to gather and analyze financial data and forecasts from portfolio companies and deal flow pipeline to report to the global organization, including:
·  Maintain deal flow pipeline log to forecast expected cash needs & timing from potential investment transactions, as well as expected Group net income impact
·  Maintain internal P&L forecasts for portfolio companies to support equity method consolidation reporting
·  Working with investment management team and portfolio companies to understand their internal financial data & reporting / forecasting tools, as well as identify opportunities and support execution to optimize these tools and reports
·  Support corporate venture fund growth through strong collaboration and team work, additional analyses and special projects

 

The ideal candidate will have:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related area of study
·  +5 years in Finance in Consumer Product Goods Company
·  A thorough knowledge of financial analysis techniques and accounting principles and procedures
·  Strong analytical and problem solving skills in particular analyzing and interpreting financial information
·  Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively cross-functionally
·  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and SAP/Microstrategy/Essbase
·  Ability to achieve results in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and work well in a team environment
·  A strong curiosity and interest in the future of food
