Job description

VM Designer, F&B :  

Location: London Headquarters, UK

Reports to: Regional VM and Promotional Design Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Your role @CHANEL: Manage all in-store VM elements | Design & Create local initiatives | Project Manage

You are a diverse and flexible Designer, crossing over the various disciplines of Design, with a keen eye for detail and project management skills. You will work closely with our UK Marketing team to initiate and deliver Global and local VM concepts for both Domestic and Travel Retail markets, from conception to installation. Your scope will also include delivering our stand-alone boutique concepts and updates across the estate.

This role will work cross functionally with several local departments including Marketing, Travel Retail, Commercial and Retail teams. Engaging and communicating closely with our supplier network will also be key. You will have the opportunity to support and work alongside the wider design, VM and display teams, including within the UK Region within this role.

The role will also include aspects of local and travel retail trade animation design work, when required.

What impact you can create at Chanel:

Manage all in-store VM creatives: Support the Marketing and Commercial/Retail teams to implement strong design and creative solutions to deliver the highest standards of VM at point of sale.

·  Design 3D concepts for UK retail and travel retail spaces based on global guidelines
·  Oversee these concepts through to completion, installation, delivery and derig
·  Design in an environmentally responsible way, considering new, sustainable initiatives within budget considerations
·  Work with a wider team on larger projects including key moments.
·  Create design proposals and technical layouts in 2D and 3D for the UK Domestic market including local and travel retail (Sketchup experience required)
·  Work closely with the local design team and wider VM team to ensure successful completion of projects to a high standard
·  Work within global guidelines to produce visually exceptional campaign collateral
·  Art working, layouts, approvals and comms across a variety of ongoing projects
·  Support the VM and Promotional Design Manager and wider design team in numerous day-to-day tasks
·  Careful and considerate project managing of tasks ensuring strict timelines are kept
·  Work fluidly across wider teams with the ability to ‘wear many hats’
·  Manage day-to-day contact with suppliers, vendors and other departments as required
·  Manage your own workflow as well as considering workflow within other teams to ensure projects are completed on time and to the standard required
·  Complete any other tasks deemed appropriate for the role

What you will bring to the role:

·  At least 1-2 years’ experience within the industry is preferable
·  Strong interest in Retail VM Design and keen to stay curious
·  Sketchup knowledge is a must and VRAY rendering experience preferable
·  Qualification in a design subject is desirable
·  Ability to design with a CSR mindset and sustainable thinking
·  Fluent in the Adobe Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
·  Fluent in the Microsoft suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
·  Strong organisational and communication skills
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·  Highly organised and detail-oriented
·  Ability to work proactively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
·  Be curious and collaborative
·  Team player mindset with the ability to confidently work self-sufficiently
·  Any previous experience within the industry is preferable
·  Able to commute to a London-based office
