Job description
Context :
To aid CHANEL and its upstream partners in improving their environmental, social, and governance practices, the Responsible Supplier Program was initially formed in 2017 under the title of Responsible Sourcing Expert Team reporting into the Corporate Social Responsibility Department. Their remit was to perform corporate social responsibility reviews across CHANEL’s supply chain aiming to establish a new level of audit expertise and allowed for a re-evaluation of its supplier audit methodology and business practices.
In order to better take into consideration the unique characteristics of each supply chain and ensure the relevance expected on the scope to be covered, we have evolved the missions within the House as below:

Supplier assessments (and Due Diligence) will be conducted and overseen directly by the Divisional and Indirect Procurement teams, leveraging their knowledge, expertise and relationships with their respective suppliers.

The Responsible Supplier Program will provide the Divisional and Indirect Procurement teams with a cohesive supplier audit methodology, framework, and guidelines, aligned with the House’s strategic environmental, social and governance initiatives and sustainability ambitions. This will be done in close coordination and partnership with the Global and Regional Sustainability Teams.

The Responsible Supplier Program will also support the Divisions and Indirect Procurement, at their request, in the execution of their supplier assessments.

The Responsible Supplier Program team will also help to prepare CHANEL to answer its future (e.g.: CSRD or CSDDD) supplier-related reporting obligations.
In that context, to complete the team and its expertises, and to prepare the House to future regulations requirements, the department is looking for a Due Diligence Manager, mainly in charge to orchestrate the due diligence process across the company and ensure its evolution.
Your main responsibilities will revolve around the following missions:

Lead global governance on ESG Due Diligence : Design and manage a global governance framework for due diligence, including adapted committees with Divisions, Regions and Corporate teams, contents of the process, adapted procedures and tools, in accordance with Corporate teams (Legal, Compliance, Sustainability, Finances…). Propose evolutions required progressively in this governance framework for relevance, efficiency and suitable reporting purposes.

Consolidate a comprehensive ESG risk assessment cartography and methodology: Implement a robust methodology to identify ESG risks and follow them on adapted tools, animating accordingly Divisions & Regions, identifying and prioritizing key risks for integration into the company’s overall strategy.

Propose a global follow-up on supplier assessment controls put in place (self assessment, audit, visits, corrections follow up, suppliers accompaniment….): Animate the global Supplier assessment community on types of controls to be monitored, propose consolidation and analysis for internal reporting / due diligence governance and evolutions of controls.

Consolidate KPIs to establish strategic directions : Gather, analyze and synthesize ESG indicators on value chain / Supplier assessment activity across divisions and regions to identify key priorities, aligning them with regulations and corporate objectives.

Manage and be warrant of Due Diligence reporting internally and contribute to ESG reportings, internally or externally : propose due diligence reporting for internal purposes, and act as an entry point for all reportings requirements on ESG when dealing on Supply Chain, animate the whole team (RSP + Supplier Assessment at division level) to match expectations, propose adequate roadmaps for implementation

Manage a competitor and industry monitoring on Supplier assessment / Due diligence practices to propose evolutions that would be required progressively on the model and meeting requirements from regulations such as CSDDD.

Advanced analytical skills and KPI consolidation : Proven ability to collect and consolidate ESG data, extracting trends and identifying priorities to shape directions.

Experience in ESG committee facilitation : Skilled in coordinating multidisciplinary committees, with the ability to align diverse perspectives toward common ESG goals.

Risk mapping and assessment project management : Mastery of risk management methodologies, from mapping to analysis, to design practical and innovative solutions.

Communication and simplification skills : Capable of making complex subjects understandable for various audiences, delivering clear and impactful reports that drive stakeholder alignment.
