As part of several system modernization projects for a government-sector client in Montréal, CGI Montréal is seeking a Software Architect with experience in designing web applications based on cloud-native architectures and built on microservices. In this role, you will join CGI’s Cloud Solutions Center of Excellence and play a key role in the design of software solutions. Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design software architectures tailored to the functional and technical requirements of projects
• Participate in the entire development lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, deployment)
• Produce architecture deliverables in accordance with established standards
• Ensure the consistency of solutions within transactional web environments
• Collaborate on the integration of cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure) and continuous deployment through Azure DevOps
• Advise project teams on best practices in software architecture, object-oriented development, and Agile methodologies
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Technology, including at least 6 years as a Software Architecture Consultant
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software/Application Architecture Consultant, Technical Lead, and/or in the development of transactional and informational websites using Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or later, REST services, SQL Server, C#, and Angular
• Minimum of 2 years of experience developing transactional and informational websites using Microsoft .NET Core, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus or Azure Event Grid, Azure Web Apps or Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault or Azure App Configuration
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 or later
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Microsoft Azure environment using Azure DevOps and Git
• Ability to participate in the full development lifecycle within a multi-platform environment using client/server and transactional web technologies developed with an object-oriented approach and leveraging a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Assets
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with a structured development methodology and the use of UML notation for use-case diagrams, physical data models (class models), sequence diagrams, and other UML artifacts
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience applying software engineering practices such as code reengineering/refactoring, test automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, TDD, BDD, code reviews, pair programming, mocking/stubbing techniques, and related practices
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Angular 8 or later
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 70 000$ et 135 000$. This role is an existing vacancy.
Use of the term ‘architect’ in this job posting refers to the technical sense related to Information Technology (IT) and does not imply that the individual practices architecture or possesses the requisite license as prescribed by the applicable provincial or territorial architect regulator. We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT architect-related functions, but licensure from an architect regulator is not a prerequisite for this position. Architecture is a regulated profession in Canada which is restricted in terms of use of titles and designation.
