Job Overview:
Example: CGI is looking for a talented and motivated Linux Aadmin with strong expertise in Linux (RHEL 7/8), Windows Server, WSUS/Satellite, and cloud basics (AWS/Azure)to build and manage scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines and infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable insights.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Focus: Leading the OS, Network, and Server patching efforts (Windows).
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the "Platform & Infra Crew," managing the remediation of the ~15k+ OS, server, and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
• Oversee all OS patching activities for Windows Server environments utilizing enterprise tools (Satellite, WSUS, SCCM, Tanium).
• Manage complex remediations such as TLS/SSL certificate updates, SSH config hardening, and network device issues.
• Mentor Junior/Mid Infrastructure Engineers, providing MOPs (Methods of Procedure) for zero-downtime patching during maintenance windows.
• Coordinate with AWS/Azure cloud teams to address foundational cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Mandatory Skills:
• Advanced OS Administration: 3+ years of expert systems administration in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
• Enterprise Patching Tools: Deep, hands-on experience deploying updates via WSUS, SCCM, or Tanium at scale. Deep understanding of Microsoft’s patching cadence (Patch Tuesday). Must know the difference between Cumulative Updates (CUs), Servicing Stack Updates (SSUs), and Out-of-Band (OOB) emergency patches, and the strict order in which they must be applied. Experience in Third-party patching (patching non-Microsoft applications that reside on Windows servers (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Chrome, Java JRE) using tools like Tanium, BigFix, or SCCM third-party catalogs)
• Security Hardening: Strong understanding of CIS benchmarks, server hardening, and core networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls) and Web Server & Middleware Security (IIS, Certificate Management, .NET Framework)
• Leadership: Proven experience leading technical teams during critical incidents and drive troubleshooting – Analysis, OS Repair tools, Snapshot and Rollback
