Senior IT Project Manager

Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time. 

Sr. IT Project Manager is responsible for leading large, complex, multi‑workstream technology programs that deliver strategic business outcomes. The role requires strong governance, stakeholder engagement, and financial discipline, while ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology execution across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Lead end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise IT programs, managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
. Establish and maintain program governance, including status reporting, RAID management, executive dashboards, and steering committee forums.
. Partner with business, technology, and vendor teams to ensure alignment, dependency management, and timely decision‑making.
. Manage financials including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and vendor performance (SOWs, contracts).
. Proactively identify risks and issues, driving mitigation strategies to ensure predictable, low‑risk delivery

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 10+ years of experience in IT Program or Senior Project Management, delivering large‑scale, multi‑stream initiatives.
. Strong experience with enterprise governance, PMO frameworks, and executive‑level stakeholder management.
. Proven ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets and vendor engagements.
. Solid understanding of Agile (Scrum / SAFe), Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
. Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills within complex, regulated environments.

Program governance & delivery – lead large, multi‑workstream IT initiatives with strong risk and dependency management. 
Stakeholder & executive engagement – clear communication, steer‑co leadership, and decision support. 
Financial & vendor management – budget control, forecasting, and SOW/vendor oversight. 
Agile & hybrid delivery expertise – strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and enterprise IT delivery models.

**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
