Location: Bangalore/Chennai/Mumbai/Pune
Shift: Morning Shift
Required skills: Min 2+ years of experience in Secondary research - Analysis of company financial reports/Annual reports, industry data, SWOT Analysis, PESTLE, Exposure of IT Industry/services, LLM based AI desk research, Basic prompting, Business Acumen, Industry/tech trends- Ideally, some exposure into Telco/Energy & Utilities sector- important business/industry/IT value chain concepts , Source triangulation, Fact validation, Market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM), Go-to-market

Role Description:
As a Research Analyst within CGI's Strategic Insights team, you will support multiple industries—such as Public Sector, Telecom, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities, and RCS—while developing deeper expertise in one primary industry vertical/cluster. The role requires working knowledge of at least one of CGI's priority sectors, along with a foundational understanding of the IT Services industry and its competitive landscape.
You will conduct structured secondary research using third-party databases, public sources, and modern research tools, synthesizing complex information into actionable insights for Sales, Business Development, and Industry leaders. Familiarity with AI-assisted research tools and LLM-based analysis (with appropriate validation and oversight) will be a key skillset to drive efficient insight generation.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking, diligence, and the ability to translate data into clear business implications. Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is essential. Strong people skills, time management, and organizational discipline are critical, as the role operates in a fast-paced, high-impact environment supporting senior stakeholders.
You should be an initiative-taking, resourceful self-starter with intellectual curiosity, professional rigor, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities: 
Support CGI leadership across corporate functions, Business Development, Sales, and Marketing through customized, on-demand market and client intelligence that informs strategic decisions and account priorities.
Contribute to enterprise-level strategic initiatives led by Corporate and Industry verticals, including global programs such as Voice of the Client (VOC), Member Consultation Surveys, and other growth or positioning initiatives.
Collect, structure, synthesize, and triangulate data from diverse sources to generate actionable company- and industry-level insights across multiple geographic markets.
Deliver high-quality research outputs including company profiles, industry trend analyses, market forecasts, competitive assessments, executive briefing materials, and proposal support content.
Develop market and competitive intelligence leveraging internal knowledge repositories and external research platforms (e.g., Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Tower, Omdia, Hoover's, company filings, earnings transcripts), complemented by modern research tools and structured analytical frameworks.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
Required Skills
Our ideal candidate should be a Graduate/MBA from a reputed business school or university, with minimum two years of relevant work experience in market and business research. Previous working experience in Marketing/sales support/corporate planning functions in IT Services/ITES setup would be an added advantage.

Mandatory skills include:
Ability to independently interpret and synthesize company performance reports, earnings calls, and public disclosures into clear strategic insights.
Strong understanding of financial statements and ratio analysis, with the capability to translate financial metrics into business implications.
Awareness of key business and technology trends (cross-industry and sector-specific) and their impact on markets and clients.
Proficiency in structured internet and database research, including effective use of modern research and AI-assisted tools with critical validation.
Strong analytical thinking and structured report-writing skills, with the ability to convert complex data into concise, executive-ready narratives.
