Job description
You’ll have the opportunity to grow capabilities and accelerate your development through our Indigenous Student Internship program, open to Indigenous post-secondary students across Canada. By joining the CGI Indigenous Student Internship program, you will have access to:

• Working flexible hours depending on the project you are allocated to and as mutually agreed upon with your manager

Roles available:

1) CGI is looking for enthusiastic and talented students for our BI Analyst Internship in Sherbrooke or Shawinigan. As a BI Analyst Intern, you will participate in the analysis of data, the creation of reports, and the optimization of business intelligence tools to support strategic decision-making within our company.
Qualities required to succeed in this role
• The student must be in the process of completing a degree in computer science, business technology management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI.
• Strong skills in SQL and/or similar programming languages.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and create clear visualizations.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
• Experience with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present results clearly.
• Team spirit and the ability to work in a collaborative, Agile environment.
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring communication in both languages.

2) Functional Analyst Co-op in Montréal: CGI is looking for interns to support the client journey in strategic, management and IT consulting, systems integration, transformational outsourcing, and intellectual property.
Qualities required to succeed in this role
• Must be a student in electrical engineering or related field.
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role.

Technical skills
• Good knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Good knowledge of Active Reactive and Apparent power.
• Good knowledge of the equipment components of an electrical network and their main functions (transformer, line, load shedding, synchronous compensator/capacitor bank).

Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations.
• ASP Construction certification is a good indicator.

Understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the Electrical Network.
• Technician
• Dispatcher

Analyst skills
• Knowledge of the test execution process.
• Knowledge of the test writing process (functional, non-functional, boundaries).
• Understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Quality of documentation and execution reports
• Knowledge of Jira is a plus.

3) Developer Co-op Placement (4 months) – Drummondville, Montréal
Duties and responsibilities
• Understanding client needs and system specifications.
• Developing web applications and components according to standard methodologies established by the team.
• Developing documentation of necessary functional and technical processes.
• Ensuring quality programming through rigorous testing.
• Reviewing code produced by peers and suggesting improvements.
• Managing the technical knowledge library.
• Build code deployments in non-production environments and/or code automation scripts.

Qualities required to succeed in this role
• Must be a student in computer science/computer engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Node js., etc.) and frameworks (React, Angular, Spring Boot, etc.).
• Experience in developing specifications, programming, testing, debugging, detailed description, and ensuring successful implementation and maintenance of programs.
• Experience in object-oriented design and user interface development
• Thorough understanding of database design principles, query execution plans, stored procedures, and SQL scripting languages (PL/SQL, TSQL).
• Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring communication with clients in both languages.

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Canada
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

National Wage Range Disclaimer
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range across Canada is $22.50 - $31.00 per hour.
