Position Description:
We are looking for a Deputy Engagement Manager for a strategic client account in the Washington DC Metro. This person will have a strong management acumen. She or he will be polished, versatile, conversant in business and technology, ambitious, and growth oriented. She or he will have a demonstrated record of building and sustaining a large global delivery team across the full scale of consulting and managed IT services. Our ideal candidate will instill confidence and cultivate key relationships with C-Suite client executives, senior client business leaders, and an established CGI management team.
Success Criteria
• Exhibit excellent team leadership helping to shape and execute our IT strategy and portfolio of projects, navigating the client ecosystem with dexterity and finesse.
• Exhibit a strong understanding and familiarity with overseeing the entire IT ecosystem (systems, networks, applications, end point devices) and related IT operations, security, privacy, and other compliance mandates essential to maintain a secure environment.
• Accountable for relationship-building, an ability to establish credibility and trust, and resolute follow-through on CGI’s commitments. We place a premium on on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Set the tone for virtual and face-to-face interactions, including our participation in corporate social responsibility and community events

• Work on a client site for 2 to 3 days per week in Alexandria, VA and have regular presence at CGI’s US headquarters offices in Fairfax, Virginia (including hybrid/virtual participation, as appropriate)
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Act as an enterprise-wide portfolio manager (in place of the Engagement Manager if necessary) who has accountability and oversight of multiple parallel and interdependent projects across the enterprise IT portfolio (platform/application, infrastructure, service delivery optimization, and security related projects)
• Accountable for key client relationship management (acting in place of the Engagement Manager if necessary) including performance against customer satisfaction targets and program performance KPIs/metrics
• Collaborate well in close interaction with CGI program leads/project managers and client business owners/product managers—and likely with some third-party project managers
• Resolve blockers ensure accountability and action by the CGI program leads and project managers.
• Own the execution for key client stakeholder reports (weekly project statuses typically 40-60 projects in each month, monthly performance KPIs/metrics, and quarterly execution for any program increment delivery)
• Own the creation of and be the first line of review for internal management reports and internal financial tracking (e.g., DSWEB, Health Checks) and assist in monitoring invoice invoices, accounts receivable (A/R), work in progress (WIP), Days of Sales Outstanding (DSO); Work collaboratively with Finance, Engagement Manager, and Service Delivery Directors to monitor, track, and mitigate financial risk.
• Assist in regular follow-ups with the clients through steering committee meetings of all client and CGI decision-makers involved in the engagement, and internally with all CGI stakeholders representing all business units collaborating in the service delivery
• Assist in business development opportunities within the Account and works closely with the Account/Engagement Manager to meet performance against growth-and margin-related targets
• Ensure the quality of deliverables and documentation such as but not limited to briefings, operating procedures, memorandums, reports, etc. based on client requests
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Hold mastery of CGI’s Management Foundation and key IT managed services offerings, application management/development, and business consulting capabilities, including conversancy in our Client Partnership Management Framework (CPMF) methodologies, tools, templates, and related solutions
• Strong knowledge of complex portfolio and program management
• Ability to analyze complex situations, identify issues, and communicate status is crucial for success in this role.
• Strong organizational skills are required to monitor and track multiple projects, coordinate resources, and ensure smooth operations.
• Strong attention to detail is important for maintaining quality assurance and ensuring compliance with governance and security standards.
• Poise, polish, and professionalism sufficient to engage and build confidence with C-level executives
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an appreciation for nuance and ambiguity, and a high degree of comfort engaging with clients
• Take ownership of responsibilities and executing commitments reliably, in a timely fashion, and with a high degree of professionalism and quality
• Strong people skills so as to interact effectively at all levels, including with executive business clients and senior business and technology leaders
• Strong appetite for learning and continuous professional development
• PMP or PMP-ACP and Scaled Agilist (SAFe) certifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Azure cloud certifications desired
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $118,700.00 - $180,200.00
