This is a great opportunity to become an employee of CGI, based in Edmonton, to provide leading information technology services to our clients. We are seeking an intermediate .Net Developer who has a minimum of 3 years of IT experience.
As part of the team, you will be charged with working on development and maintenance service requests delivering the highest of quality. This position is expected to have had experience in the following technologies (SQL Server (2012), Visual Studio (2010 and later), ASP.net/MVC, Transact SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (2012), or SharePoint (2010 or 2013)).
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Following defined processes in the delivery of all application maintenance activities, i.e. enhancements, corrective changes, environmental changes.
• Install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
• Working closely with key clients to understand business requirements and manage priorities.
• Ensuring that technical specifications meet government policies and industry standards.
• Providing accurate estimates, applying changes, performing effective testing, and deploying solutions.
• Proactively analyze, troubleshoot and resolve system incidents and appropriately escalate issues.
• Unit testing of code and remediation of code defects.
• Provide task estimates.
• Conduct code reviews for other team members.
• Perform production support as required.
• Develop and maintain system documentation.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 3+ years of development experience on the Microsoft .NET Platform with both applications development and maintenance.
• Experienced with the following: .Net Framework (3.5 and up), SQL Server, WCF, C#, Web API, Web Services, ASP.NET MVC and JavaScript.
• Thoroughly versed in the software development life cycle, particularly as it relates to promotion and deployment of routine fixes and major releases into a production environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• BSc/BA or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Nice To Have:
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Experience with Angular framework.
• Experience with object-oriented design practices.
• Experience in an environment with continuous integration (TFS Build, MSbuild or equivalents.
• Experience providing production support.
