We are happy to discuss remote or hybrid working and welcome applications from across Northern Ireland. The role is predominantly home-based but will involve occasional travel to client sites in Belfast. All applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to Security Check (SC) level as a minimum.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a MuleSoft Developer, you will be at the forefront of a large-scale digital transformation program, playing a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying robust integration solutions. Your expertise in API-led connectivity will enhance the agility and scalability of enterprise systems.
You will work closely with business and technology teams to gather and analyze integration requirements, ensuring solutions align with strategic objectives. Your role will involve developing and implementing MuleSoft APIs using the Anypoint Platform, while adhering to best practices in security, governance, and performance optimization. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining RAML and OpenAPI specifications for RESTful APIs.
Beyond development, you will conduct unit and integration testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure seamless deployment through CI/CD pipelines. You will also provide technical mentorship to junior developers and stay updated on emerging trends in API management and integration technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
• Design, develop, and implement MuleSoft APIs and integrations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define integration requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Develop API-led connectivity solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Ensure compliance with best practices in API security, governance, and performance optimisation.
• Conduct thorough testing to validate API functionality and reliability.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps practices for automated deployments.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
To be successful in this role, you should have strong expertise in MuleSoft development, API design, and integration patterns. A solid understanding of microservices architecture, data transformation, and security best practices is essential.
You should have hands-on experience with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, and Anypoint Studio. Proficiency in DataWeave, RAML, JSON, XML, SOAP, and RESTful services is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as hybrid on-prem integrations, will be beneficial.
A background in event-driven architecture, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS), and ETL processes will set you apart. Additionally, experience with OAuth, JWT, and SAML security frameworks, along with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps, will be advantageous.
Key skills and experience required:
• Strong experience in MuleSoft development (Mule 4 preferred).
• Knowledge of API development, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with MuleSoft connectors, transformations, and message processors.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid integrations.
• Expertise in API security frameworks such as OAuth, JWT, and SAML.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
