Position Description : A DevOps Engineer bridges the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring fast and reliable software delivery. This role focuses on automation, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure management, and system reliability.
. Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery
. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across environments
. Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline workflows
. Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
. Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
. Ensure security and compliance across deployment processes
. Maintain and improve system reliability, scalability, and performance
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Site Reliability Engineer:
• Prepare, manage, and deploy release packages across QA and Client-production environments.
• Maintain and enhance automated deployment scripts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Jenkins server configurations, build jobs, and plug-in/version upgrades.
• Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, and script/HTML generation errors.
• Create and manage ITSM tickets for issues reported by clients over email (incident, change management).
• Support development teams with environment access, VM allocation, and infrastructure requests.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding for development environments and tools.
• Manage SharePoint access and data/usage monitoring.
• Perform OS patching and vulnerability remediation in non-production environments.
• Manage VMware/vSphere environments including provisioning, capacity adjustments, and performance monitoring.
• Handle infrastructure housekeeping including logs, disk space, service availability, and monitoring systems.
Production Support:
• Provide first-level incident support for production outages or system failures.
• Deploy release packages to production environments when required.
• Update supporting components (Java JVM, Tomcat, Apache, etc.) as per vulnerability/security requirements.
• Monitor server patching cycles and infrastructure health dashboards.
Compliance, Audit, and Reporting
• Prepare and maintain audit evidence across servers, databases, email, Git, Bitbucket and JIRA.
• Support Disaster Recovery testing and ongoing infrastructure change tracking.
• Generate periodic operational and compliance reports.
• Monitor and support routine database operations such as backups and log shipping.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Experience supporting application environments across Development, QA, and Production.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and source control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
• Working knowledge of Windows server administration and virtualization platforms (vSphere/VMware).
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application runtime issues.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes and ticketing frameworks.
Must have Skills
• Windows Server Administration
• CI/CD Pipeline Management (Jenkins)
• Scripting (Shell / PowerShell / Batch) for automation and deployment tasks
• Source Control (Git & Bitbucket) + Issue Tracking (JIRA)
• VMware / vSphere VM provisioning & management
• Basic SQL and database operational understanding
• Understanding of release process, environment flows, and configuration management
• Strong troubleshooting, coordination, and communication skills
Good to have Skills-
• Knowledge of Apache/Tomcat server configuration and JVM tuning
• Understanding of patching, security compliance, and vulnerability management
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery planning and execution
• Experience preparing audit evidence and compliance documentation
