As SEMEA Tax Manager, you will join a team of 3 collaborators, reporting directly to the EMEA Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing the tax function for the SEMEA region (Southern Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This strategic role includes overseeing tax compliance, audits, planning, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the SEMEA tax team, including team leadership and skills development.
- Ensure direct and indirect tax compliance and oversee audits across the SEMEA region, with a specific focus on France.
- Tax business partnering work closely with commercial teams to provide tax solutions that support business needs.
- Manage tax risks by identifying, assessing, and implementing strategies to mitigate risk in the region.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, such as mergers & acquisitions, IT transformation, real estate, and refinancing.
- Monitor tax legislation in the region, analyze impacts on the company, and lead necessary actions.
- Set up and liquidation of entities (permanent establishments, subsidiaries) in the SEMEA region.
- Oversee tax audits and litigation in SEMEA, including managing relationships with external tax advisors.
- Provide in-house tax advice to optimize commercial tenders and ensure tax-efficient solutions.
- Manage periodic tax closings: calculate current and deferred taxes, prepare and validate tax packages for the region.
- Optimize tax planning: leverage tax incentives, improve VAT cost and cash flow, and manage tax receivables.
- Tax reporting and control: ensure accurate and timely reporting for the region and the Group, following Group tax policies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, ideally within the SEMEA region and in France.
Key Skills and Experiences
- Technical expertise in tax within the SEMEA region, with strong knowledge of transfer pricing rules.
- Business acumen and customer-oriented approach, with the ability to understand and address business challenges.
- Advanced communication skills with strong process management and leadership abilities.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory (written and spoken).
