Job description

Context:

Working in a dynamic Legal Division and reporting to the Head of Contracts and Competition Law, you will be in charge of ensuring the legal security of the commercial activities carried out by the business development and technical sales teams in mature fields (refining, petrochemicals) and innovative energy technologies (decarbonation, green hydrogen, biomass recovery, plastics recycling, water treatment, etc.).

Missions :

You will work closely with the operational teams involved in the following contractual activities:

  • Drafting, analysis and negotiation of
  • Commercial cooperation and co-commercialization agreements with engineering partners, with a view to marketing third-party products/technologies or co-marketing technology/product chains;
  • Feasibility and pre-feasibility study agreements, digital services (refinery monitoring software licenses, refinery operation and maintenance optimization software, etc.).
  • Support for the activities of the Group's technical and business development departments (business and sales development/prospecting for the Group's new technologies);
  • Occasional support for legal teams in charge of process licensing contracts, sales of engineering services (basic or detailed), equipment or product sales.
  • You will also be responsible for analyzing, drafting and negotiating the commitments attached to the above-mentioned contracts, in particular: pre-contractual agreements (memoranda of understanding), confidentiality agreements, consortium/joint-venture agreements, subcontracting agreements.
  • You will be responsible for training and raising awareness among operational staff for legal issues relating to your activity.
  • Occasional business trips abroad are to be expected. Depending on the candidate's location, regular travel to Paris may be required.

Desired profile

Educational background and Required Level :

  • You are a graduate of a Bac +5 minimum, Master 2 International Business Law. You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a position of an International business lawyer, ideally in the energy sector.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of contract law (Civil and Common Law) and familiar with the challenges of competition law and intellectual and industrial property law.
  • You speak and draft perfectly legal English, an essential tool for your daily life.
  • You demonstrate real curiosity both for your specialty and for technical issues

  • You are committed to your job and and have a high sense of service, a very strong team spirit and know how to be a top-notch partner of the operational teams by maintaining a close relationship and educational skills.
