What you'll be doing

As a Human Rights Executive in our Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of our group sustainability strategy, Plan for Better. You will contribute to the development of approaches, policies, and standards to maintain our agreed position in various impact areas, with a particular focus on Goods Not For Resale and our Own Operations. You will collaborate with stakeholders within our different business units to embed the human rights strategy and our human rights targets, and monitor progress. Your responsibilities will also include issues management, gathering data to monitor progress, communications, training content development, budget management, and responding to enquiries on human rights. With your familiarity in delivering results in a fast-paced customer-focused business and your knowledge of human rights within relevant sectors, along with your project management and communication skills, you will actively contribute to a more ethical and sustainable operation.

Who you are

As a Human Rights Executive in our Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability team at Sainsbury's, you are a dedicated professional passionate about driving ethical and sustainable practices. You possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to navigate complex datasets, analyse relevant networks and stakeholders, and manage projects with multiple stakeholders. With your expertise in risk assessment and management, you effectively prioritise activities to address competing priorities, ensuring that human rights risks in supply chains are managed effectively. Your proficiency in communication and reporting, particularly in sustainability topics, empowers you to deliver accurate and impactful messages to both internal and external stakeholders. As a conscientious team member, you contribute to the development of policies, standards, and training content while ensuring alignment with the company's values and strategy. Overall, your dedication to sustainability and commitment to making a positive impact position you as a valuable asset in our mission to protect our planet and enhance the lives of communities we serve and source from.
