Job description

Role: Database Administrator

Required Skill Set:

·  Database Management: Extensive knowledge of DB2 LUW, preferably with PureScale.
·  Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS Cloud, particularly Archive DB.
·  Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in Ansible scripting for automated setup and management of IBM DB2 environments.
·  Monitoring Tools: Experience with Grafana and Dynatrace for monitoring database environments.
·  Data Management: Cloning and replication of PureScale databases, and backup/restore operations using CommVault and DB2.
·  Operating Systems: Advanced skills in Linux.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Database Administration:
·  Implement, monitor, and maintain DB2 databases on Linux platforms.
·  Troubleshoot and resolve performance, connectivity, and security issues.
·  Perform performance tuning and optimize database schema (DDL) operations.
·  Environment Management:
·  Set up new database environments, execute core release updates, and test database functionalities and performance.
·  Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) capabilities through advanced tools and techniques.
·  Automation & Optimization:
·  Develop and maintain automation scripts for both on-premise and cloud database environments using Ansible.
·  Create processes for database cloning, replication, and backup/restore operations, optimizing for efficiency and reliability.
