Job description
Allianz Partners are excited to hire for a new position within the APAC region as a Business Controller. The role reports to the global Planning & Controlling Line of Business leader, with a dotted line to the sub-region or hub Tribe Lead. This role follows the financial performance of the line of business (LOB) within the geographical region and is a financial counterpart to the strategic LOB Steering role. This role is responsible for financial planning, monitoring, and performance analysis for the LOB while contributing to the strategic and budgetary processes within the Asia-Pacific region, as well as contributing to a unified approach for all Planning and Controlling systems and processes globally.
Key Responsibilities:
· Contributes to the planning, preparing and executing of budgets and forecasts (rolling forecasts, Planning Dialogue) for the LOB to support profitable growth;
· Contributes to the administration and strengthening of financial control tools, procedures and controlling standards for deployment across LOBs;
· Works with the Productivity Controller to track and control costs within the LOB, and monitoring the cost allocation process to ensure fair and accurate allocation of shared costs;
· Ownership of monthly financial reporting and analysis for the LOB within the APAC region, communicating financial results to stakeholders in a reliable and meaningful way;
· Contributes meaningfully to the decision-making processes within the LOB through provision of high quality financial analysis and advice;
· Supporting with the validation of business cases that relate to the LOB, maintaining controls and financial oversight on projects;
· Serves as trusted business partner for global LOB teams, along with local and regional stakeholders at a business unit level.
Key Requirements
· University qualification in a relevant discipline (eg. Business, Finance) with membership in a professional accounting body advantageous;
· Strong systems experience (Excel, PowerBI, SAP);
· Proven experience with financial planning & analysis (FP&A), experience within a complex international matrix structure and/or insurance organisation is advantageous;
· Decision making skills – able to make decisions quickly and put into practical use;
· Problem solving skills – able to interrogate a challenge and develop processes that engage and educate the team and stakeholders;
· Ability to manage competing priorities while achieving agreed business outcomes, meeting deadlines, and motivating colleagues;
· Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business, and tailor communications to appropriate audiences
