Job description

Legal Counsel

We are seeking a Legal Counsel who will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel – Financial Services where you will be contributing to the FSI practices group within the Australian Legal team with the core aspect of the role to provide general Insurance and Financial Services Regulatory advice across the business and a variety of stakeholders.

 

You will:

·  Identify and advice on the management of legal risk in relation to sales, marketing, distribution, product development, claims and dispute resolution.
·  Draft and review financial services distribution agreements and a variety of corporate and commercial documentation
·  Support the execution of our corporate strategy by assisting with the development of new products and platforms
·  Support the business in liaising with relevant regulators
·  Support the regulatory change initiatives that impact Allianz Partners

 

What you will do:

·  Contribute to the financial services practice group within the Australia legal team and supporting the financial services and insurance aspects of the Allianz Partner business.
·  Provide legal support with respect to product development and implementation as well as the underwriting agency management
·  Provide legal support in the onboarding of new partners, including draft distribution agreements
·  Supporting the business in response to sales tenders and procurement documentation
·  Provide clear and succinct advice both written and verbally clearly, with align with the strategic objectives of Allianz Partners
·  Work closely and build positive relationships with the Australian Global business as well as the underwriting agency.
·  Provide training on legal issues that are pertinent to the business

 

What we require you to have:

·  2-5yrs post admission experience
·  Strong Financial Service background including regulated financial services or Insurance experience
·  Strong people and business leadership experience
·  Experience dealing with regulators and regulations
·  Excellent communication and engagement skills across all levels of stakeholders
·  Ability to manage multiple priorities, conflict resolution, Influence and decision-making skills based on risk priorities
