We’re excited to present a rare and rewarding opportunity for a Short-Term Product Underwriter to join our team. This hybrid role can be based in either our Chelmsford or London office to stay connected with the people and ideas shaping our future.

You'll participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Furthermore, for pricing-based roles, Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Salary Information
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
As our Short-Term Product Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Shape Strategy: Support the Underwriting Manager in developing and executing underwriting strategies in collaboration with Pricing teams.
- Build Relationships: Manage and strengthen broker partnerships to drive business growth.
- Leverage Expertise: Use your technical knowledge and customer insights to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks.
- Stay Ahead: Monitor market trends, technology developments, regulatory changes, and product performance data to keep us competitive.
- Maintain Accuracy: Ensure product specifications are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Drive Innovation: Refresh pricing models and rate charts regularly to maintain market relevance.
- Enhance Processes: Take a cross-product and cross-functional view to identify improvements and efficiencies.
Essential Skills
We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:
- Experience in underwriting, product development, or related technical roles.
- Ability to interpret MI and data analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency in Excel (intermediate) and PowerPoint.
- Solid understanding of underwriting appetite, governance, and compliance frameworks.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and report effectively.
- A proactive approach to spotting risks and opportunities and driving solutions.
