About the Job 

Java Backend Developer plans, develops, tests, and maintains software solutions. You will manage the technical design and the application development, including testing the developed software. This also includes support and consultation activities in the concept phase of the planned application.

The team A-CT105AGA is in charge for the overall architecture of the Allianz Business System of Allianz Germany. With this system, the biggest insurer of Germany operates all customer, contract and claims data.  Apart the architecture of ABS we are responsible for the  overarching runtime components and also overarching frameworks. The team is based in Munich and Budapest. We are about fifteen high skilled architects.

We currently need support for a framework called ABS Com.

ABS Com which means ABS Communication framework. It consists of two parts, one is Backend (Pl1) , the other is Java (ABS Client and ABS WEB). We are looking for support for the Java part.

Abs-com is a proprietary remote procedure mechanism used to connect system to ABS Germany. It consists of a Java and a PL/1 component. We are looking for support for the Java part. This part consists of:

• A standalone cmd line tool used to generate API classes from abstract service descriptions
• A library distributed inside Allianz to allow other applications to use abs-com
• A spring application (rsabscom) that wraps the proprietary abs-com protocol as JSON web services using jaxws.

What you do

• Check functional and technical requirements regarding technical implementation and feasibility and translate them into the technical software design. Design, test, debug, document and implement software or application components of third-party software and of operating system-related software.
• Fulfill non-functional requirements of the solution, such as performance, data protection, IT security and ergonomics/usability. Ensure the future maintainability of the systems and consideration of the technical and functional environment in the context of the development of software. 
• Maintain all java code of abs-com and keep it up to date.
• Support all users of abs-com during development and production.
• Operate and maintain rsabscom application.
• Assist all abs com users in switching to rsabscom.

What you bring

• Strong proficiency in Java programming. Build and CI/CD Tools: Experience with Maven and Jenkins for build automation and continuous integration.
• Proficient in using Git for version control.
• Experience with Spring framework and Kubernetes (RSABSCOM) for application development and deployment.Web Services and Messaging: Knowledge of JAX-WS for SOAP services, and JMS/IBM MQ for messaging.
• Experience with JDBC for database connectivity, and proficiency in XML and JSON.
• Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.
