Head of Actuarial - Actuarial Function Holder

Job description

The Actuarial Function Holder ensures that all actuarial activities, including Underwriting, Reserving and Reinsurance, are adequately performed and pro-actively contributes to the Company’s Financial Controlling and Risk Management.

She/he shall focus on creating added-value for the business by having meaningful discussions on key metrics, such as new business value and return on risk capital. She/he manages the interface to local regulator, Allianz Benelux Chief Actuary, Allianz Group Actuarial function as well as with other internal or external stakeholders.

Sparring partner to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors on all actuarial topics, the Actuarial Function Holder strives for optimum use of data sources and excellent performance.

 

Main activities / responsibilities :

• Holding the Actuarial Function as per the Solvency II and CAA.

• Providing Actuarial Function opinions on Underwriting, Reserving and Reinsurance adequacy.

• Signs-off on Best Estimate Assumptions and Liabilities for LUXGAAP, IFRS 17 and SII frameworks.

• Signs-off of Value New Business / New Business Margin.

• Explains the dynamics of Key Performance Indicators in LUXGAAP, IFRS 17 and SII frameworks.

• Drives adequate data quality culture and processes.

• Actively represents Allianz Life Luxembourg towards Allianz Group and external stakeholders (incl. regulator).

• Supports the business in pricing products / business cases in accordance with profitability requirements.

 

Profile :

• You have a university degree in actuarial science.

• You have a proven track-record of minimum 5 years in Life Actuarial within an insurance company.

• You have a strong understanding of LUXGAAP, IFRS 17 and Solvency II frameworks.

• You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and you are able to produce high quality written reports and presentation materials.

• You are able to interlink within a global organisation.

• You are fluent in English and French.

• You are assertive and you can build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

• You are a strong team player, who collaborates easily and efficiently across functions and with stakeholders to achieve results.
