Executive, Technical Underwriter (Property & Engineering)

Responsible in providing technical support, quotation, underwriting and complying with company/group guidelines. Part of the Corporate Business Department (CBD) Technical team and reporting to the Head of Technical, CBD.
 

You'll be responsible for:

·  Assess and underwrite new offers mainly for Property and Engineering Lines of Business (LOB). 
·  Underwrite and review all property renewals and new businesses using the Company pricing tools and to monitor rate adequacy and rate change across the operational accounts.
·  Works closely with the Supervisor(s) on all referrals. To undertake all necessary preparatory work as guided and directed. 
·  Assists the Supervisor(s) in all initiatives to improve the profitability of the Property and Engineering portfolio.
·  Client together with the marketers on renewals / technical matters / enquiries as and when deemed necessary.
·  To manage the e-filing system and to ensure that the policy documents are kept /filed systematically.
 

Important to your success:

·  A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Insurance, Science and/or Engineering, Actuarial Science or related fields.
·  Professional qualifications in insurance (AMII) is  considered as an advantage
·  Related industry knowledge and familiarity with insurance underwriting 
·  Analytical with problem-solving skills
