COST CONTROL SPECIALIST – CLUB MARINE – COMMERCIAL - MELBOURNE

The Cost Control Specialist oversees the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of Club Marine’s Service Provider operations. This role includes managing supplier and service provider performance, establishing and maintaining governance frameworks, reviewing assurance findings to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance and reliability. Additionally, the Cost Control Specialist is responsible for managing risks, optimising costs, and fostering sustainable relationships with suppliers and service providers.

 

About the role

  • Nurtures strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and service partners, ensuring high service standards, compliance, and well-maintained records across the supply chain.
  • Supports contract health and continuity by partnering closely with Procurement on renewals and contributing thoughtfully to Specialist and Loss Adjusting RFPs.
  • Carefully oversees invoice management and adjustments within agreed service levels, communicating clearly and constructively with repairers while responding to feedback with empathy.
  • Provides clear, insightful reporting on invoices, savings, and performance trends, resolving concerns promptly and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Brings a thoughtful, strategic perspective to identifying future risks and aligning the claims supply chain with quality, timeliness, cost efficiency, and customer care.
  • Promotes ethical, sustainable practices by strengthening governance, managing risk proactively, and fostering long-term, trust-based partnerships with suppliers.

 

About you

  • Brings a strong trade qualification with a well-rounded understanding of boat construction methods and components.
  • Demonstrates thoughtful planning and prioritisation, balancing multiple tasks and competing demands with care and clarity.
  • Applies technical knowledge confidently across systems, software, databases, and reporting tools to support informed decision-making.
  • Communicates ideas and information clearly and considerately, both verbally and in writing.
  • Approaches work with adaptability and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are organised, accurate, and well supported.
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
