About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the design, deployment and ongoing operation of AI and machine learning solutions within the organisation adhere to responsible AI and ethical standards. The role will support the implementation of AI governance frameworks, assess risk across AI initiatives and provide assurance that AI systems align with regulatory, ethical and business requirements.

• Develop local processes and procedures that support the rollout of global standards and functional rules
• Provide guidance, training, and awareness sessions to business stakeholders on safe and responsible use of AI
• Maintain AI registers and report AI risk posture to senior stakeholders and committees
• Partner with data scientists and business divisions to embed responsible AI checks across the AI lifecycle
• Work with data scientists and business units to perform third-party AI vendor assessments, assessing the risk or bias, fairness, explainability and transparency
• Monitor changes in AI regulations and provide recommendations for process updates
• Represent Allianz Australia at Global Allianz Forums on responsible AI and governance

About you

• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts
• Strong understanding of associated risks, and governance requirements.
• Knowledge of regulatory and ethical frameworks related to data, privacy, and AI
• Experience in operational risk, compliance, audit, or AI governance
• Ability to assess complex technical issues and translate them into business/operational risks
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence both technical and non-technical teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills, particularly in simplifying complex AI risks for business leaders. A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
