About the job
Our IVTK-Teams develop the new java-based rating engine for life products
The main customer of our team is the product development for life insurance products. We have end-to-end responsibility for our service including the design, implementation and testing of business requirements, creating builds, deploying and operating our service as well as the automatization and improvement of all related processes. At the moment we are two agile teams, each with8 team members, both internal and external, working from Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin and Budapest. The teams are united in a cluster that collaborates very closely together to achieve their goals.
We are now looking for two internal team members in Budapest who can connect and collaborate effectively with our external team members located on-site in Budapest, while also being integral parts of our cluster that operates across Germany and in Budapest.
This job position offers the opportunity to be part of a team that values working together and prioritizes the successful implementation of product development requirements.
What you do
- You develop, test, and deploy our calculation core, using modern technologies and processes.
- You advise the business department in creating specifications and subsequently implement them in close collaboration.
- You provide operational and strategic advisory support to our clients.
- You design and optimize technical procedures and continuously enhance the software quality of the application in terms of performance, test coverage, etc.
- You regularly review and improve the workflows and processes in your environment.
What you bring
- Completed degree in (business) informatics, mathematics, or equivalent knowledge
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a software developer
- Mastery of modern programming techniques and excellent programming skills in Java and from the Java ecosystem (e.g. Groovy, Jakarta EE, or Spring)
- Proficient handling of common design patterns and data structures (XML, JSON, etc.)
- Very good knowledge of CI/CD and related tools
- Extensive experience with build tools (e.g. Gradle, Maven) and at least one version control tool (e.g., GIT-SCM)
- Curiosity, flexibility, and willingness to explore beyond the immediate scope
- An agile mindset and readiness to embrace change
- Team spirit and strong communication skills
- Ability to understand, analyze, and articulate complex issues accurately.
- A solution-oriented approach, high quality awareness, and the ability to work independently while taking responsibility
- Fluent German language skills in speaking and writing (at least B2 level)
