The project
As a global leader in engineering consulting and R&D services, AKKA supports the world's leading industry players in their digital transformation and therefore the Business development team in the Netherlands has been working on the AKKA Netherlands Digital plan and the important focus areas.
As part of this Digital Plan, Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things play an important role. During your graduation internship you are expected to do research related to the Internet of Things.
Your challenge
You will answer a number of questions in this IoT context:
1. Describe and compare the various technology currently preferred by different suppliers.
2. Research into the potential products and services that can be developed and marketed using IoT infrastructure, platforms and technologies: What impact will the technology have on the portfolio of suppliers and their customers? What challenges do IoT have to present business models, and how can technology enable them? Using interview techniques, analyze IoT adoption barriers and enablers: Which drivers and tools are used in new technologies and which prediction can be made about the breakthrough of implementation.
How can companies consider the needs of the market at an early stage to determine the need for the risk. Also discuss the impact of fundamental changes in technology on business processes.
3. AKKA technologies will assist you by providing access to subject matter experts, internal research that has already been done in this area, contacts with our customers to conduct conversations and collect data. Other or additional research questions are of course possible like integration with Machine Learning Digital Transformation.

Who are you?
· You are in the last year of your studies (Bachelor or Master), preferably a specialization in the field of business or technology
· You have (demonstrable) affinity with IT, business administration, telecommunications or networks
· You are a team player with excellent communication skills
· You have excellent command of the Dutch and English language
· You can work independently and know how to tackle things
What’s in it for you?
· Experience in a large, international consultancy office
· Build exciting real-world interactive electronics systems with e.g. MANGOH_YELLOW_WP7702, ESP8266, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, cloud, sensor fusion, Android device, & Internet of Things
· Learn and work on the Internet of Things and big data analytics from sensors data
· Work on solutioning IoT systems to create real time IoT data to integrate with AI and Immersive reality systems
· Provide technology solutions and guidance to the build digital platforms and create use cases for power, water, gas, renewables, smart office, and smart kitchen
· Process real-time data from sensors and respond to it intelligently
· Experience in Machine learning and Data Science
· Assist our IoT development team
· Possibility to graduate with experienced AKKA Technologies guidance, knowledge and expertise
Practical information
· Duration: 6 months
· Hours per week: 40
· Location: Primary location Eindhoven (secondary location Aalsmeer)
· Start date: January/ February 2021 or by appointment
· Follow-up: You will receive good guidance from a team of experienced consultants
· Allowance: You will receive an internship allowance of 350 euros per month and a laptop
