Definition VIE
The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all E.U. nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). VIE Main Requirements:

European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old (a V.I.E mission can begin no later than the day of the twenty-ninth birthday)

Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any
·
Must be registered on the Mon Volontariat International website before the age of 28 For more information: https://mon-vie-via.businessfrance.fr/ (in English, German, Italian and Spanish) The contract duration of VIE is between 6 to 24 months.
A VIE for an assembly specialist has arisen within Airbus Operations in Germany. You will join the OMTAI department in the Assembly Technology Innovation Team in Manufacturing Engineering. We are a team of experts and specialists committed to improving our current production systems and defining technologies that will shape our future manufacturing processes. Our team generates value on the shop floor by implementing new technologies and processes, keeping operators at the heart of all what we are doing.
Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Your tasks and responsibilities
·
Task 1: Support organisation of Demonstrators and Laboratory work i.e. collecting requirements, creating Bill of Material and associated planning test
·
Task 2: Running test campaign on demonstrators
·
Task 3: Work with Metrology Equipment to do Measurement campaigns for R&T, analysis and proposal for improvement of technology according to the relevant maturity level and in relation with suppliers
This role will involve some travel for business once a month in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Desired skills and qualifications
You have the following skills and experience:

Bac+5 engineering degree level
·
Experience in metrology or mechanical engineering (apprenticeships and internships included )
·
practical laboratory experience
·
IT tools : office or google tools mandatory, polyworks or spatial analyzer and tools for statistical analysis as optional
in addition you are capable to demonstrate the following skills:
·
Engineering degree and/or practical experience
·
Basic Knowledge of assembly processes in the aviation industry
·
Team working
·
Autonomous
·
Comfortable in interaction with people having different cultural backgrounds
·
comfortable in managing complex & dynamic projects in a transnational environment
·
Willingness & creativity to make things happen
·
Language Skills: negotiation level of English
·
Language Skills: intermediate level of German
