The Tornado MRCA has been an important backbone of the European air defene for the last 40 years. Continued maintenance and development of capabilities of this A/C is required at least until the end of this decade.

FCAS has the potential to become a future key pillar to secure the sovereignty of Europe, strategically, technologically, and industrially.

Responsibilities:

· 
Define ad-hoc development assurance level with regard to development risk

· 
Define system development logic consistent with development assurance level

· 
Elicit and validate system/product requirements whilst considering the complete system lifecycle

· 
Design and define possible architectures considering the functions and other requirements (constraints)

· 
Lead system modelling using appropriate modelling methods and tools

· 
Lead analysis (Analysis of characteristics and performance)

· 
Perform trade-off analysis in order to select the best system architecture fulfilling system/product requirements

· 
Validate architecture (using for exemple virtual integration techniques as necessary)

· 
Define and manage interfaces requirements -lead verification of the system/product implementation and its interfaces, on the real or virtual system

· 
Lead operational and in-service evaluation -lead impact analysis of any design change request during the entire product lifecycle.

· 
Level 0 system engineering for a system-of-systems of various flying assets

· 
Level 1 system engineering for fighter aircraft and remote carriers wrt cross platform mission system functions:

· 
Analysis of L0 requirements

· 
Preparation of system/subsystem specifications, architecture and design in requirement tools (DOORS) and design modelling tools (Cameo)

· 
Preparation and performance of integration tests

· 
Cooperation with other departments and companies in an international context

Qualifications:

· 
Completed Studies Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Mechanical Engineering or comparable

· 
Solid experience in a comparable role in the Tornado and/or FCAS program

· 
Solid experience and knowledge of Overall Avionics, System Architecture, System Engineering, Cockpit systems

· 
Solid experience in System Engineering development tools (e.g. DOORS, CAMEO)

· 
Fluent in English and German
