Description of the job

A vacancy has arisen at Airbus Defence and Space based at Portsmouth for the position of Infrastructure Technology Control Officer.
Reporting to the Head of Supportability Engineering, the successful candidate will act as the interface and principle point of contact between Infrastructure Management within UK / US Secure Communications and the Export Compliance function, and have delegated authority for daily export and retransfer activity.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

The main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  To be a focal point of contact within Infrastructure for export compliance matters.
·  Support to training for staff in Infrastructure.
·  Manage or oversee the intangibles transfer register.
·  Obtain the information necessary, or assess product, to enable compliant retransfer or export.
·  Ensure compliance with the internal procedures covering the export of goods, software, technology and services.
·  Update the Master Data List (MDL) with new entries.
·  Review and sign off DRNs where MDL listed exports are concerned, and provide relevant data/service to logistics department to cover customs requirements regarding export.
·  Safeguard cross site/country transfers and approve only those as authorised by export licence.
·  Record and maintain all export data within the agreed database.
·  Provide the necessary support to Export Compliance in order to obtain national and international export (incl. re-export) licences and agreements as required.
·  Assist Export Compliance in the preparation, and be present for all audits both internally and externally, particularly with government agencies, in the M&S domain.
·  Provide first line advice to Procurement, Logistics, Infrastructure and Project departments on matters relating to UK / US Import & Export regulations and best practice.
·  Communicate with immediate manager and head of export compliance UK so that the future workload may be monitored and analysed in terms of capacity.

This role will involve travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Proven experience in a similar role in a technical maintenance and support environment.
·  Experience of work package/task management.
·  Working understanding of the principles of budgets and cost control.
·  A Working understanding of all Infrastructure support activities inclusive.
·  Basic technical knowledge of satellite communication services.
·  Excellent communication skills, able to communicate and influence at all levels.
·  A working knowledge of the UK Export Control process and US Departments of Defence (ITAR) and Commerce (EAR) licensing procedures – although training will be given in this area.
·  Proficient in PC applications, a knowledge of databases is an advantage.
·  A working knowledge of company business systems; ideally SAP, Electronic Data Management systems (EDMs).
·  Fluent English language skills, other languages would be an advantage.
