Job Description

Joining an Airbus Apprenticeship Programme could be the ideal start to your career, just as it has been for many of our Senior Managers today! Our Apprentices receive second to none training, gaining the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to enable you to make an immediate contribution when you enter the workforce.

An Airbus Quality Engineering Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications with no fees, whilst acquiring new skills through vocational training, and a regular salary.

This exciting Programme is your first step towards becoming a Quality Engineer. Through the four year Programme, you will gain a Higher National Certificate in Engineering Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering with onsite work will be carried out in the Engineering Quality Airframe, Landing Gear and Programme Configuration Change departments at Airbus Filton.

On completion of our 48 month Programme you will become a Professional Quality Engineer with HNC qualifications.

Tasks

Your first year on this Quality Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will predominantly be spent offsite at Weston College.

The remaining 3 years will be spent at the Airbus facility at Filton, working a part of a transnational quality organisation undertaking various quality assurance activities in support of the business such as Advance Product Quality Planning, Process Quality Management, application of Practical Problem Solving Techniques, Design Assurance Independent Monitoring and reporting.  There will also be the opportunity of experiencing other aspects of the Airbus Engineering business such as Aircraft Programme Configuration Management.

Skills

In order to be eligible for this exciting apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:

·  Five GCSE's at grade 9-4, including English, Maths and Science. Maths is advised at grade 5.

Or

·  1 A-Level in Maths or Science

Or

·  90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC Level 3 qualification

Please note that you must also include a cover letter as part of your application for this Apprenticeship which demonstrates your interest in aerospace and motivation to join the Programme.
