About our team...

Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub.

AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support.  Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its Defence Helicopter Flying school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).

The main responsibilities of the post holder will be:

·  To ensure that all appropriate legislative and Company Procedures are adhered to in order to ensure that the Company remains compliant and aircraft airworthy.
·  Liaison with the Customer Support Managers, Technical Records and the Maintenance Organisation to ensure a common understanding of capability and capacity.
·  Entry of Technical log utilisation data onto the Maintenance system.
·  Review of allocated Aircraft status reports on a weekly basis to ensure full maintenance programme compliance is maintained.
·  Identify provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft based on projected utilisation and update the Maintenance planning calendar with 'Provisional' maintenance dates.
·  Review material requirements against provisional maintenance dates for allocated aircraft. Raise reservations/purchase requisitions for missing materials
·  Participate in weekly resource planning meeting to define in/out dates for maintenance interventions aligned with manpower availability
·  Raise aircraft scheduled maintenance orders.
·  Review of prepared work specifications and work packages for maintenance inputs to ensure that aircraft downtimes are minimised.
·  Confirm material requirements are available for the scheduled maintenance events for allocated aircraft
·  Ensure that the support and prepared documentation provided by Planning meets the needs of scheduled maintenance inputs.
·  Reset  Maintenance tasks in the MIS
·  Continually improve planning process & procedures to improve overall efficiency of planning team.
·  Other tasks as assigned by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager

The post holder would ideally have the following Knowledge and Skills:

·   Use of Technical Records, Planning & Maintenance related software applications. (Airbus Helicopters utilise SAP/ENVISION applications).
·  Good understanding of aircraft maintenance planning and material planning requirements as related to Part M/A8-25 & Part 145/A8-23.
·  Comprehensive use of Microsoft Office applications.
·  Comprehensive understanding of Part M & Part 145 and corresponding BCAR regulations.

We require the post holder to have the following Education, Qualifications or special training:

·  Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above or equivalent recognised qualifications (e.g. NVQ, BTEC).
·  Human factors training undertaken.
·  Recognised Part M Training Course accomplished.
·  Recognised Part 145 Training Course accomplished.

The post holder should have the following experience:

·  Previous experience in a Maintenance Planning role or Airworthiness Management role essential.
·  Knowledge of Airbus Helicopter Products and their related MSM’s preferable.

·  Self motivated- able to work without supervision and as part of a team.
·  Ability to manage small teams and drive improvement within the functional area.
·  Flexible work ethic focused on delivering against agreed timelines.
·  Proactive - ability to recognise potential issues and applies remedial action before they raise concern or affect operations.
·  Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
