Internship: Composite processing and testing for bonding application in aerospace systems (d/f/m)
Praktikum München, GERMANY IT development
Job description
Job Description:
Airbus is a global pioneer in aeronautics, space and defense related services, creating cutting-edge technologies. Combining European heritage with global outreach, the diversity of our talent and technology drives innovation, integration and internationalization. Airbus CRT is the central research domain of the Airbus company, in charge of fundamental research for all Airbus divisions.
Composite materials are widely used in the aerospace industry, especially due to their high strength-to-weight ratios. They consist of a reinforcing fiber and a polymeric resin taking over the role of a matrix which gives them their unique property profile. The focus of this internship will be the investigation of new bonding technologies for composite structures. This will involve material formulation, physico-chemical analysis, data evaluation and lab testing.
As an intern at Airbus CRT you will be a member of the materials team and participate in technical project meetings and meetings with our customers. This internship will be dedicated to the development of towpreg material systems. The activities will be focused on formulation in the laboratory and physicochemical analysis of the different resin systems. Beside a standard material development, the use of digital tools for different processing routes and tools will also be investigated in order to speed up the development cycles and better understand the structure-properties relationships. Finally, mechanical characterization and composite development will also be studied.
