About us:
The role resides within the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Department which is the authority for all EHS matters for Airbus Defence and Space in the UK. Your role will see you actively involved in Health and Safety matters, solutions and ideas to improve the companies Health and Safety performance and ultimately lead reduced accident rates.
Based at Portsmouth, you will have access to a wide range of businesses across the whole Space sector including Spacecraft Production. As a critical part of the EHS team you will also work with and alongside EHS Professionals with decades of experience in this field.
As part of this degree apprenticeship, you will be studying towards achieving a BSc in a Health and Safety subject from a UK University.
What you will be doing:
The successful applicant will use their full skills and ideas to collate data, suggest solutions and actively participate in developing UK programmes from Health and Safety Management to Accident reductions. The role will typically see a project such as Chemical Safety being discussed alongside Fire Safety topics which will arise in the workplaces day to day.
Requirements:
In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:

3 A Levels at C or above or equivalent relevant Level 3 qualifications subject to validation
AND
·
GCSE Maths and English Language at 4/C or above
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

Basic understanding in Health and Safety issues
·
Chemical awareness
·
Good communicator
·
Prepared to present to all levels of the company
·
Presentation skills
·

Submit a Cover Letter stating your motivations
**Please note that selected candidates must be 18 years of age on the start date of this apprenticeship to meet the University entry level requirements.
Important Information:
GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the position’s requirements before the apprenticeship start date.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
Our apprenticeship roles do not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas & Immigration to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
