Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

In this role, you will support the Solutions Architecture / Pre Sales team for all aspects of the delivery of very light-weight payloads for the Zephyr series of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) including specification, design, build/manufacture, and integration into the Zephyr platform.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

·  Translating customer user requirements into technical solutions
·  Provide advice and guidance to payload suppliers on optimal integration solution for a Zephyr platform
·  Working with customers and suppliers provide technical summaries on Zephyr platform and payload capabilities
·  Provide input into the payload development strategy and roadmaps
·  To ensure the stakeholders clearly understand the requirements for the and the capabilities of the payloads
·  To liaise with the other subsystems teams such as power and propulsion to ensure that the best overall solution for the Zephyr system is being implemented
·  To assist in the delivery and management of the integration of payloads onto Zephyr to ensure mission success
·  Ensures the Zephyr Product Assurance (PA), design and verification standards are met

The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

Some of the following experience/skills are anticipated;

·  Degree or equivalent in an engineering / aerospace subject
·  Familiarity with engineering methodologies for harsh environments
·  Technical awareness and ability / familiarity with some of the following payload types

o RF communications,
o Optical and IF surveillance
o ESM and Sigint
o Data communications

·  Strong communication skills to engage with management & technical colleagues
·  Ability to work to demanding time-scales

This role will be based in Farnborough and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
