Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

Candidates must have a practical scientific / engineering background with an ability to work as a team member as well as occasionally unsupervised on own initiative, have good analytical skills, with the ability to identify a problem, interact with the right stakeholders and provide a solution. The candidate will be expected to contribute to work packages and present results to managers and peers.

·  Contribute to small sub system design packages interacting with various specialists such as mechanical and avionics engineers to produce a systems design that meets all requirements (structural, electrical, thermal and performance).
·  Supporting the generation of higher level design documents and specifications through analysis or practical experiments.
·  Designing and building of test installations and support equipment.
·  Contribute to the generation of test plans, organising and presenting at test readiness review boards.
·  Support qualification and acceptance testing, recording/analysing results, presenting at test review boards and generating end item data packs.
·  Carrying out analysis tasks from flight data.
·  Supporting test flight trials inside and outside Europe.
·  Work with Lead System Engineers to ensure compliance with requirements
·  Support to the Project Managers for successful delivery.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

·  Qualified to degree level in Aerospace, Physics, Electronics, other practical scientific discipline or a suitable apprenticeship scheme.
·  Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
·  Reliable in respect of quality and timeliness of deliverable items.
·  Careful and organised approach to tasks.
·  Quality conscious working method.
·  Practical engineer with hands on interests outside of work.
·  Reliable in respect of quality and timeliness of deliverable items.
·  Evidence of taking ownership of problems/high level requirements.
·  Solidworks/Matlab experience would be advantageous.

This role will be based in Farnborough and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
