Description of the job

Do you have CAD experience and would like to learn more? Interested in working in a Design Office / Drawing Office for a big corporate company? Are you looking to work on interesting on detailed designs? Looking to design products that will go into space? Then this is the role for you!

We are looking for someone with some CAD experience and we are happy to train you to CATIA V6.

As an Assistant Engineer you will be trained to focus on the development of innovative design solutions answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context. You will be joining a Project team of up to 5 people who are part of dept of 70 and MDO Group of 20.

You will be carrying out a range of Design Activities as required by the Lead Designer. The department is focused on System Accommodation and Detailed Design CAD activities for Telecommunication and Observation Satellites.

The successful candidate may need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with
business needs.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

You will be trained to undertake the following:

¤ Contribute to Spacecraft Mechanical Platform Detailed Design activities and creation of CAD models, Digital Mock Up (DMU), manufacturing drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notes (ECNs).
¤ Perform all tasks in line with Mechanical Design Office Process documentation and deliver on time on cost and on quality.
¤ Control correctness, accuracy and relevance of output using departmental checking procedures.

Required skills

¤ CAD experience / knowledge - we are happy to train to CATIA V6 level

Experience / knowledge of as many of the following as possible, we will provide training on the rest:

¤ Designing structure components
* Designs that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production / assembly requirements
* Design tools
