Description of the job

An Apprentice Satellite Electrical Harness Product Engineer (m/f) position has arisen within Airbus in Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse). You will join the Telecommunication department, telecommunications satellite design in charge of the Harness (Electrical Wiring). All activities respond to tenders until the satellite is on launch pad: specification, detailed design, manufacturing, testing and verification, and satellite integration.

You will join a team of 7 people, and you will interact with different trades.

This Apprenticeship can start in September 2018, subject to flexibility and will last 3 years.

Occasional trips to Western Europe (UK integration clean rooms). About once a year.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

1. Participation in the edition of the harness estimate for the calls for tenders in Interface with the Proposal Management teams:
Customization of the cost model, which includes the custom/design/detail design/manufacturing/AIT phases
Customization of the power chain and interface cards to meet mission requirements

2. Edition of harness specifications for telecom satellites:
Integration into the Project Customization group (included participation in weekly i-Obeya meetings)
Program specific input data collection for satellite harness definition
Definition of functional electrical allowances

3. During industrial management, end-to-end activity management and full responsibility
cost: summary of all costs included in the estimate, focal point for the management controller
planning: editing of the lean harness planning with the specificities of the programme, guaranteeing its application, respect of milestones and its management
and the quality of the harness: guaranteeing compliance with the harness specification, participation in detailed design, test and recipe reviews

4. Interface with the Supply Chain for the follow-up of the manufacturing of the product in subcontracting

5. Monitoring of harness installation and support in case of anomalies in clean rooms

6. Innovation: leader of small Work Packages for future Telecom platforms and digitalization (Odyssey 4.0, Quantum)

7. Maintenance of team processes:
Maintenance and improvement of interface specifications with related trades (payload, thermal, electrical)
Support in the team in the use of design tools, writing user manuals, improving interfaces...

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  You will prepare a BAC + 5 level diploma, in engineering training in the fields of Telecommunications and/or Aeronautics and Space and/or Electric.
·  You have knowledge of Access (data base)
·  You have knowledge of JAVA
·  You are known for your rigour and your organisation
·  You have a good capacity of adaptation and relational
·  Language skills: English level: Intermediate. French level: Intermediate.
