Job description

Job Description:

At Airbus UpNext , we explore technology for sustainable, autonomous and connected applications in flight. By doing so, we are actively shaping the future of the aerospace industry.

We use demonstrators as the principal means of evaluating, maturing and validating new radical technological breakthroughs. We not only integrate and test the technology but help shape the foundations for infrastructure and flight regulations, enabling Airbus in its aim for a better-connected, safer and more prosperous world.

Our eXtra Performance Wing demonstrator using a Cessna Citation VII business jet platform, will test wing aerodynamics and performance to reduce future aircraft CO₂ emissions. Next step? The integration of some very special wings inspired by nature!

As an intern, you will be a part of the industrial team, and you will be working on how to support the conversion of the demonstrator and especially some of the most complex integration sequences. Key objective is to create an integrated industrial mock-up (based on the existing DMU) and reproduce the most complex industrial sequence enabling:

·
validating the macro-process as it has been defined: parts to be removed, accessibility of human intervention with given set of tools

·
anticipating long lead-time operations and analyze if there is any easier way of doing

·
work on the physical mock-up to get a “cabin-like” environment (using wood, foam, other materials) and be able to develop training session in this environment

·
preparing training of the operator (training kit)

·
supporting the VR (virtual reality) environment to use that as tool for communication and trainees

·
participating to the industrial flow communication (communication kit to be developed in the FAL to follow-up the progress - different type of media can be used)

This internship is a unique opportunity to work with the industrial team, learn about industrial integration in digital mock-up, and participate in this unique project by bringing solutions and ensuring conversion can be done.

Duration : 6 months

Starting date :   January 2025 ideally , March 2025 latest

Your mission:

- Use existing digital environment to focus on specific operations

- Analyze and provide solutions when any clash is identified

- Prepare training supports for future mechanics

- Work on physical mock-up of the cabin interior

Your boarding pass

What you bring (and will be developed):

·
Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 and simulation environment

·
A plus if there is a previous experience using the 2 workbenches:

Digital Process for Manufacturing

Assembly Process Simulation Workbench

·
Skills on prototyping, mock-up and like to build/repair stuff

·
Knowledge on industrial set-up, working/hangar environment is a plus

·
English, intermediary level mandatory

What you get:

·
