Airbus UpNext Internship 2025 - Superconducting powertrain control development (m/f)

CRYOPROP demo is looking for a superconducting powertrain control intern.

Duration : 4 to 6 months

Starting date :   February 2025 ideally , March 2025 latest

The internship will be a rewarding experience if you are passionate about aeronautics, sciences and new technologies.

You will be part of an ambitious and flexible project execution with a diverse technical team, with partners from worldwide industry and academia, start-ups in a dynamic and emulating environment.

Your Missions  

As a superconducting powertrain control intern, your main mission will be to design, develop and test a real-time control and monitoring platform for a superconducting superconducting powertrain.

The scope of the work will include the model-based development of the algorithm and its validation by simulation with a software-in-the-loop approach. Once the control principle is validated, the software will be deployed on a real-time target (including FPGA) for a pre-verification with a hardware-in-the-loop approach. Last step is the lab test verification of the device on superconducting samples in a cryogenic environment.

Learning goals and tasks:

Implementation of a model-based (Simulink) software for powertrain control and monitoring.

· 
Validation of the model by simulation.

· 
Deployment of the protection software on a real-time target.

· 
Validation of results with an experimental setup in a cryogenic lab. 

Your boarding pass

What you bring:

· 
Studies in electrical engineering or applied physics

· 
Understanding of electrical and control modeling

· 
Experience in MATLAB/SIMULINK programming and modeling;

· 
Initial knowledge in Real-Time (e.g. Speedgoat) and FPGA programming, aircraft electrical system and in superconductivity is an advantage
