Description of the job
There are stronger and stronger expectations with regard to the aircraft operational performances in terms of operational reliability, availability and maintenance cost because it directly impacts business profitability.
Therefore it is essential that Airbus enables and implements these performances in the aircraft design from the earliest in development, and there is an opportunity to achieve this thanks to the ongoing transformation of our engineering processes towards Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE).
In this frame the thesis aims to investigate appropriate methods and techniques to enable a new approach called: Holistic Operability Projection. This approach consists in projecting in an MBSE environment the impact of the design of a system of interest on the aircraft operational performances at various maturity stages in development.
The starting date is subject to flexibility (the duration is 36 months)
Tasks & accountabilities
Thesis Subject:
The study will include investigation of advanced statistical or probabilistic techniques so that the approach is adapted to processing of big volumes of data and probabilistic parameters.
It is also part of the thesis to propose innovative approaches
The progress, the effectiveness and maturity of the proposed methods and techniques will have to be demonstrated during regular iterations including intermediate proofs of concept.
The thesis will be managed as an agile project
