Our client, a police organisation based in Penrith, is looking for a motivated Procurement Business Partner to join their team. This temporary position offers a competitive hourly rate from £19.18.
As a Procurement Business Partner, you will play a vital role in the organisation's Commercial Department, working closely with various internal and external stakeholders such as financial services, legal departments, suppliers, auditors, and other police agencies. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the procurement life-cycle and continuously improve commercial practises within your category. You will be expected to keep abreast of legislation and data protection issues and identify areas for improvement.
To excel in this role, you should have commercial experience and a proven track record in delivering savings. A delivery-focused approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment will be essential. You should also possess strong negotiation and influencing skills and be proficient in IT tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a commercial or related discipline. Membership or working towards membership in a relevant professional association will be highly desirable. Additionally, experience in supplier management and procurement strategy development would be advantageous.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the organisation's Commercial Plan and register of contracts. You will work closely with finance colleagues to ensure budget estimates align with commercial objectives. With a focus on value for money, you will lead the development and implementation of the commercial category strategy, identify savings opportunities, and manage supplier relationships.
