Patient Services Administrator
Manchester (Manchester) Personal services
Job description
Our client, a healthcare organisation based in Trafford, is seeking a dedicated and efficient Patient Administrator to join their team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing administrative support to the clinical teams, ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation.
As a Patient Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:
· Providing a comprehensive administrative service to the clinical teams, including dictation, producing documentation such as discharge summaries and operation notes, and maintaining a high standard of documentation.
· Safeguarding the security and confidentiality of all information at all times.
· Delivering outstanding customer care, demonstrating empathy and tact when dealing with distressed or anxious patients and their families.
· Maintaining a professional image of the organisation in all interactions.
In terms of administrative functions, you will be responsible for monitoring the outpatient, in-patient, and day case waiting lists, ensuring compliance. You will also use various computer systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient details and records. In addition, you will handle complaints and escalate them to your line manager if necessary.
Service delivery and improvement are key aspects of this role. You will be responsible for coordinating and organising patient appointments, working closely with the clinical team to ensure adequate cover during periods of absence. Collaboration with other administrative team members in delivering a high-quality service will also be required.
Our client places great importance on effective communication. As a Patient Administrator, you will be required to handle departmental correspondence, liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure essential patient information is available, and manage telephone calls and messages efficiently. Furthermore, you will be expected to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and provide excellent customer care in challenging situations.
In terms of governance, you will undergo training as required to maintain competency and comply with trust policies. Adherence to policies regarding confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, fire protection, and annual appraisals is essential. Our client also emphasises the importance of resource management, including providing cover in periods of absence and ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of supplies and stationery.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic health care organisation and contribute to their service improvement agenda. If you have strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a flexible approach to work, we encourage you to apply for the position of Patient Administrator with our client.
