Job Advert: Administrator (Term Time Only)
We are currently seeking a proactive and adaptable individual to join our team as an Administrator for a reputable educational institution. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the school and ensuring the welfare and safety of our pupils.
As an Administrator, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, making this position incredibly varied and dynamic. A can-do approach and the ability to work effectively in a school environment are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking on tasks as and when required, showing flexibility and a willingness to assist in various areas of the school.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing and reconciling petty cash between 2 schools one in Chorley area and one in Lostock Hall
Updating training records and ensuring staff are up to date with online learning and induction training.
Coordinating induction training, booking venues, and confirming courses with our Head Office.
Requesting IT log-on for new staff.
Sourcing appropriate equipment for the school as and when required.
Raising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers.
Handling invoice queries and requesting credit notes.
Managing subscription renewals.
Arranging adhoc BACs payments.
Providing reception cover and answering telephones.
Assisting with lunch arrangements for visitors and ordering sandwiches.
Collecting shopping for the kitchen when orders are short.
Supporting teachers and teaching assistants with supplies and class group requests.
Taking responsibility for certain health and safety duties, such as file maintenance and audit, and medical room checks and paperwork.
The successful candidate will ideally have some basic accounts experience to effectively manage petty cash and handle financial processes. Furthermore, a strong phone etiquette and the ability to accurately take messages are essential. Applicants should also possess an understanding of safeguarding due to the vulnerability of our pupils.
This role requires a candidate who is a driver and is available to work during term time only, with an additional two weeks towards the end of the summer holidays to prepare for the return of staff. The annual salary for this position is £22,854, based on a pro-rata rate of £17,873 per annum, working 32.5 hours per week (9am - 3.30pm, five days per week). Some flexibility in working hours can be considered if needed for childcare reasons.
